This is Goodbye... or its it?

Hey guys, it has been a while.

The reasoning for this is because I am moving my blog onto another site. I know that I haven’t exactly been using this for very long but I enjoyed using blogger to make my own blog, I enjoyed making the posts and sharing my work discussing interests and the like as well. Blogging isn’t the problem here, it really is just Blogger itself. I have found that as time has gone on I want to customise my blog more and change it, adapting it to my tastes; I have found doing this rather difficult however. In addition it feels quite restricted. I have a photography website, Flickr account, Facebook page, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram that I would like to share with you all, but it feels like I am being prevented from doing so.

I have found a site that would allow me to do this, Wordpress. I have the option to customise my site and change it and connect a few of my other accounts and pages to the blog itself. I wasn’t able to do that on blogger.

From now on I shan’t be posting anymore content on here regarding my work, I shall instead be doing that on my new blog. I do hope that those of you who are following me follow this new blog. In the future I shall continue to make changes to it. The design and layout of it is still very raw and new but in the next few months I shall continue to upload new content and upgrade my new blog.


Anyway that is all for today guys and this blog, I have a couple of free days coming up so if I am lucky I will be able to take some new pictures for you all and give you some new pictures to look at!

Journey: My A-Level Exam Piece

Finally! My long overdue post on my A-level work! I feel like since it has been so long since I promised to post this I have now built up this work into sounding like something astounding when in actuality it really is just my first piece of work that I have completed that I am seriously happy with.

Anyway for our exam piece we had to chose a theme and create some artwork based on this theme, we could do a maximum of 5 photos. I chose to do 5 photos and did a narrative based around the theme reading, For my photos I had a little girl pose in a way that I would be able to make a composite and have her placed on a smaller paper airplane.  I shall post the pictures below:







I was trying to express how through books you could go on a journey. I was focusing more on the adventurous genre of books with my piece. I wanted to show how, despite feeling sure of a book, you may find that it surprises you and changes dramatically. To represent this I had the little girl hanging off a plant after accidentally crashing her small paper airplane, despite the fact that she was able to fly smoothly for the whole of her trip. To edit this piece I used the selective brush tool to select what I needed of the girl and then with an eraser did some finer changes with a graphics tablet to get a perfect cut-out.  After this I was then able to manipulate it or edit it as much as I wanted after placing the cut-out on the paper airplane. There was not much else to do after this, everything else is natural and original in this picture.

I must say at the time I was absolutely ecstatic after finishing this piece. I definitely thought that this was the best piece I had produced, until now. Looking back on these pictures I can see places where I can improve on this picture and also my location, execution, theme, outfit could all had more control applied to it. I am thinking of doing a series of miniaturised pictures at some point in the future, to take what I have learned and apply this to a new series. Hopefully this attempt will be a significant improvement in comparison to my last attempt but we will have to just wait and see. Anyway that is all for this blog post, I hope to do some food photography photos soon so hopefully there will be a new experiment to share with you all soon, until then I shall bid you all adieu!

What's happening?


I feel like I should quickly update you all on what is going on. As of right now I am on my way home for the summer after having finished my first year of University. As a result I shall no longer be plagued with the curse of terrible Internet! This means that in the next couple of days I will be able to upload my A-level post that I have been meaning to do for a while now. At the moment I am on the train home and am brainstorming ideas for future shoots and writing them down in my snazzy new notebook I purchased from Paperchase whilst reading a few chapters of The Secret Garden.

Whilst on the train I felt entitled to take some pictures, particularly of the condensation on my Iced Latte, I simply felt it looked interesting. Also I apologise for the quality of these pictures, I only have my phone on hand at the moment.





This post is just a quick update to let you all know that I have not forgotten about my blog and shall be back to posting new content on the regular very soon. Until next time I shall bid you all farewell!
